InsureWithMax Blog

We love our pets, but we love our children more.

My name is Max and I am relaunching a new annual insurance for working mums (and dads). Your child is unlikely to be seriously ill, but you never know what the future may bring. If you stop working to care for your ill child, who’s going to cover your bills?

What’s ChildMax?

You’ll be able to give your child the time they need during both the medical crisis and the recovery period, knowing that ChildMax is paying your take home salary monthly for a year while you’re on unpaid leave.

Costs measured in cups of coffee

Starting from £49.50 for £1,000 monthly take-home salary or from £3.75 a month. The premium depends on your pay, the number and age of your children. For example, with 2 young children and a £2,000 take home salary per month, you would pay either a £75.77 single payment or a deposit payment of £12.63 followed by eleven monthly payments of £5.74.

What’s covered?

12 illnesses and 7 medical conditions from accidents, as listed in the policy. This includes: aplastic anaemia, bacterial meningitis, benign brain tumour, blindness, cancer, coma deafness, kidney failure, loss of a hand or foot, major organ transplant, multiple sclerosis, paralysis of limbs, stroke, third-degree burns, or traumatic brain injury.

It’s easy to claim?

Once our UK claims handling team agrees your claim, ChildMax pays your claim within 30 days. You choose the best date to start your leave from work. This can be during your policy or any time within 10 months of the policy coming to an end. If needed, you can choose to return to work on a part-time or other flexible basis. ChilldMax pays the difference between your monthly take home salary and your lower earnings.

Be moneywise

The NHS provides world class medical care, but parents often stop work as part of the care team; this leads to family hardship. I am driven to keep premiums low to assist working families because I want them to financially carry on as normal, while restoring their child’s health.

ChildMax is budget friendly, either pay monthly or a single annual payment, giving you peace of mind, as it will pay your take home salary for 1 year within 30 days of your claim being agreed.
